Agricultural & Resource Economics


All AREC students must complete the following six (6) benchmark courses (18 credits) with a C- or better before moving on to upper-level AREC courses.

  • ECON 200 or AREC 240 or AREC 250: Microeconomics
  • ECON 201: Macroeconomics
  • MATH 120: Elementary Calculus I or MATH 140: Calculus I
  • STAT 100: Elementary Statistics (or any other statistics course)*
  • BMGT 230: Business Statistics or ECON 230: Applied Economic Statistics
  • AREC 326: Intermediate Applied Microeconomics

Be sure to note the required pre-requisites for these courses as you create your 4-year plan. You can find sample four-year plans for the AREC major here.

* STAT 400 can be substituted for both STAT 100 and BMGT 230/ECON 230.
