Paul Goeringer

The third annual Agricultural and Environmental Law Conference was hosted by ALEI on November 17, at the Doubletree Hotel in Annapolis.

Professionals from a variety of backgrounds, including environmental, agricultural and legal, came together to speak about relevant topics and complex regulations.

Some of the speakers at the event included Maryland’s Secretary of Environment Ben Grumbles, organic farmer Alison Howard, and state conservationist Terron Hillsman. Topics discussed ranged from land conservation to climate change.

The conference offered insight about natural resource protection laws and the how these laws affect Maryland farmers. ALEI hopes to help continue the dialogue between farmers and legal specialist in the future.
