For the 2014 crop year, USDA has developed a common policy towards crop insurance for RMA, FSA, and NRCS. This fact sheet lays out that common policy and how it will interact with Maryland's Cover Crop Program. Producers participating in Maryland's program will need to make sure that they terminate their cover crop by approved USDA methods in order to stay eligible for crop insurance on the commodity crop.
