AREC welcomes our newest faculty member, Dr. Mary Zaki
Dr. Zaki, who joins the Department as one of our Extension faculty, received her Ph.D. in Economics this summer from Northwestern University. She received a B.A. and B.S. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania. Her main fields of research are in public economics and applied microeconomics with a special interest in household finance and consumption issues among fragile populations. Currently she is working on various topics related to small dollar loans and their subsequent effect on household consumption. She is also investigating the impacts of universal school breakfast programs on student health. She is currently teaching our AREC 250 (Elements of Agricultural and Resource Economics) course.
