UMD AREC thanks all of our donors for Giving Day! Donations to our funds can be made any day of the year.
On Wednesday, March 8, from midnight through 11:59 pm EST, UMD will host Giving Day, an exciting opportunity for the university community to raise as much as it can in 24 hours to support the work that supports the state of Maryland, and worldwide.
Donations to AREC support key programs across academics, research, and Extension while we compete for additional funds with matches, prizes, and challenges that make your donation go even further.

Making a donation on Giving Day helps your contribution to AGNR go further and count for more than giving on just any day of the year. The more we raise, the more we gain access to prize money, matching funds, and challenge donations. And the number of individual donations can be just as important as the dollar amount.
All donations made through the specific giving day page will be counted towards the AGNR challenge of unlocking an additional $45,000 to the college if we receive 250 donors who contribute.
There are several other power hours and prizes throughout the day for alumni, parents, and even the fan-favorite challenge for posting photos of your pets!
A special note for AREC faculty and staff: The AGNR Challenge hours are from 11 am - 1 pm on Wednesday. AGNR can WIN $2,000 if we contribute the most faculty/staff gifts of any participating unit. We have consistently won this challenge in past years and would like to sustain this standing again this year with your help.
