The Summer 2021 review issue features stories that showcase high-impact environmental work by the college's world-class faculty and students, community engagement efforts surrounding this year's cicada emergence, and the college's renewed commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Respect for all.
The research of AREC Assistant Professor Jim Archsmith is prominently featured in the lead article Fuel for Thought (page 20).
Kudos, also, to AREC alumnus Cedric Nwafor (page 24) and AREC Extension legal specialist Paul Goeringer (page 27).
Cedric is the current coordinator for the college's Office of International Programs and co-founder of ROOTS Africa as a student club in 2017. ROOTS Africa took home the top prize in this year's virtual Do Good Challenge, an annual UMD pitch competition to help raise funds for the issues and communities Terps care about most.
Congratulations to Paul on being named the new director of the American Agricultural Law Association.
