We would like to congratulate our 2016 graduates. This semester marks another round of hard-working and talented students in the department of agricultural & resource economics. Thank you graduates for your dedication and your contributions to our school.
Pictured above are doctoral graduates and dissertation advisors: Monica Saavoss, professor Erik Lichtenberg, Rubaba Ali, associate professor Ken Leonard, Shirley Pon and professor Anna Alberini. Monica is a research agricultural economist at the USDA’s Economic Research Service, Rubaba is working as an economist at Fannie Mae, and Shirley is a quantitative analyst at the NMR Group.
Pictured below are some graduates from our undergraduate program. Around 30 students graduated this month. Several students will be continuing on to graduate school, while others will begin their careers at a variety of organizations in the public and private sectors. One of our graduates will be working on social media outreach for the rapidly expanding D.C.-based restaurant chain Cava Grill. Other students have accepted positions at government agencies such as the National Security Agency and the University of Maryland Sea Grant Extension program, which is funded by the state of Maryland and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
